ROKS Cheonan

On March 26, 2010 the South Korean warship ROKS Cheonan sank after an explosion killing 46 crew members. Initially, the cause of the explosion was uncertain. RADM Tom Eccles, U.S. Navy (Ret.) was part of the international investigation that followed. Join us on September 20 in Alexandria, VA as Admiral Eccles shares how the acoustic data and examination of the recovered hull, combined with specific engineering principles, allowed the team to conclude that a torpedo from a North Korean submarine exploded underneath the ship.

Registration for this special event is limited to 20 and is on a first come, first serve basis. Click here for more information and to REGISTER.

FMMS Update and Deadlines

The Navy sails ahead in fleet readiness with its latest advances leveraging solar power to go green and cut costs. This green initiative in partnership with the state of Virginia and Dominion power, will allow the Navy to generate about 21 megawatts of electricity to buildings around the base. That’s enough to power over 4,000 homes! Learn more about the Navy’s modernization initiatives and join us in Hampton, Va for the Fleet Maintenance and Modernization Symposium. GO GREEN WITH FMMS and save time by REGISTERING ONLINE. Don’t forget our Exhibit Hall is FREE this year and registration is required beforehand!
