From Virginia:

Maritime Plaza is in the Southeast section of Washington, DC, approximately 4.5 miles from Crystal City, directly across from the 11th Street gate to the Washington Navy Yard. The area is served by I-395 (SE/SW Expressway) from the 14th Street Bridge, and by I-295 on the opposite bank of the Anacostia River. From I-395, the "6th Street SE" exit provides the preferred access to Maritime Plaza via M Street, SE.

Using I-295 (from the Wilson Bridge), access is provided via South Capitol Street or the 11th Street bridges across the Anacostia River. The right exit ramp off the 11th Street bridge provides direct access to Maritime Plaza.

From Maryland:

There are numerous routes to Maritime Plaza. Many of us will start south on the Baltimore-Washington Parkway (Rt. 295), which leads to Kenilworth Avenue. The first appropriate crossing of the Anacostia River is at East Capital Street via the Whitney Young Bridge. Stay on East Capital, around Lincoln Park, and left on 11th Street at the far corner of the park. Follow 11th Street to M Street and Maritime Plaza.

If you stay on Rt. 295, which becomes the Anacostia Freeway at East Capital Street, you can cross the 11th Street Bridge to Maritime Plaza by reversing course on the Freeway at South Capital Street using two branches of the exit cloverleaf. Take the Navy Yard exit to cross the 11th. Street Bridge. Use the right exit for direct access to Maritime Plaza.

Another option is crossing the South Capital Street (Frederick Douglas Memorial) Bridge, and turning right onto M Street, past the Navy Yard to Maritime Plaza.

By Public Transportation:

The two Metrorail stations serving the Maritime Plaza area are the Navy Yard stop on the Green Line, and the Eastern Market stop on the Orange and Blue lines. Unfortunately these Metro Stations are about a mile from Maritime Plaza.

Metrobus line N22 service is provided between both Metro stations and the Navy Yard and down to 12th Street adjacent to Maritime Plaza.

Employees using the Maryland Rail Commuter Service (MARC) for their commute can switch to Metrorail at Union Station.

Employees who use Virginia Railway Express (VRE) can transfer to Metrorail at any of three different stops: King Street in Alexandria, Crystal City in Arlington, or L'Enfant Plaza in DC. The V7 & V9, M Street Metrobus lines run on a frequent schedule between L'Enfant Plaza and the Navy Yard.
