ASNE
Day 2005
Naval Engineering for Joint and Coalition Rapid Maritime Response April 26-28, 2005 Virginia Beach Pavilion, Virginia Beach, Virginia |
ASNE Day 2005 provides a new location and a renewed focus on the challenges that confront naval forces in the years ahead. For the first time ever, ASNE Day moves to the Tidewater area of Virginia where it will be hosted in the Pavilion Convention Center in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Drawing on the strength of ASNE's Tidewater Section and taking advantage of the location in the greatest concentration of naval forces in the world, ASNE Day 2005 will address issues that are vitally important to future naval operations.
It has become increasingly apparent to U.S. and allied nations that effective coalition naval operations are a critical enabler for pursuing the global war on terrorism while remaining properly responsive to disparate regional conflicts. As a result, greater emphasis has been placed on strategies to enhance the ability of coalition navies to operate together and achieve shared objectives in a variety of scenarios. These strategies include increased professional exchange and interaction; greater commonality in systems, equipment and logistic support; open architecture approaches for improved networking and interoperability; and integrated planning and training for coalition operations. This symposium aims to stimulate a robust professional exchange of ideas from government and industry resources, open to all Services and coalition partners. We intend to provide an interchange on the naval engineering implications of improving the way we prepare for, support and conduct coalition naval operations.
As always, the ASNE Day Exhibit Hall will feature many interesting displays highlighting the key roles that leading defense system vendors, system support contractors and government acquisition, technology and support organizations all play in developing, deploying and sustaining these vital capabilities.
