Monday evening, June 25 - Black Tie Preferred (Business Attire acceptable); Military - Dinner Dress White Jacket or service equivalent

This year ASNE has transformed the traditional Annual Banquet into an exciting and elegant Honors Gala and Liberty Ports of Call Extravaganza.

Arriving guests will assemble in the Exhibit Hall for a champagne welcome reception sponsored by DRS Technologies. Shortly thereafter, we will be called to an adjacent room for a formal Awards Ceremony where we will honor the winners of ASNE’s prestigious awards for 2006 and celebrate their achievements. Immediately following the awards ceremony, Liberty Call will be announced and guests will flood the Exhibit Hall where they can sample an enticing selection of international food and beverages representing a number of favorite Liberty Ports of Call while networking with friends and associates and visiting a large variety of interesting exhibits. Bill of fare will include selections such as kabobs from Perth, leg of lamb with mint chutney from Edinburgh, and mini cheese steaks from Philadelphia. This grand affair is not to be missed!

Honors Gala Itinerary

1730 – 1800      Champagne Welcome Reception sponsored by DRS Technologies in Exhibit Hall (Independence A)

1800                  Guests Proceed to adjacent room for Awards Ceremony

1815 – 1925      Awards Ceremony (Independence B)

Presenters, Awards and Recipients Include:

• The Honorable Dr. Delores Etter, Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Research, Development, and Acquisition, will present the Gold Medal Award to Rear Admiral Chuck Goddard, USN, Program Executive Officer for Ships.
• Vice Admiral Paul Sullivan, USN, Commander Naval Sea Systems Command, will present the Harold E. Saunders Award to Captain Barry Tibbitts, USN (Ret.).
• Rear Admiral Kevin McCoy, USN, Deputy Commander for Naval Systems Engineering Directorate, Naval Sea Systems Command, will present the Rosenblatt Young Naval Engineer Award to Ms. Jennifer Grimsley, P.E. NA, Naval Surface Warfare Center.

The Fisher House™ program is a unique private-public partnership that supports America’s military in their time of need. The program recognizes the special sacrifices of our men and women in uniform and the hardships of military service by meeting humanitarian needs beyond those normally provided for by the Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs.

Because members of the military and their families are stationed worldwide and must often travel great distances for specialized medical care, Fisher House™ Foundation donates “comfort homes,” built on the grounds of major military and VA medical centers.
