Ships & Ship Systems Technology Symposium (S3TS)
Change, Challenges & Constants
The Ships & Ship Systems Technology Symposium is a national forum sponsored by the American Society of Naval Engineers. The Symposium is intended to provide an open technical forum for interdisciplinary exchange among personnel from government, industry & academia who are engaged in supporting US Navy ships & ship systems. The focus of the event is on the core equities that define the Ships and Ship Systems Product Areas and giving the state-of-the art technologies in these areas. These core equities are Ship Integration and Design; Hull Forms and Propulsors; Machinery Systems; Structures and Materials; Environmental Quality Systems; Vulnerability and Survivability Systems; Signatures, Silencing Systems, and Susceptibility. Twenty three papers were selected for presentation. Dr. Delores Etter, Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Research, Development and Acquisition has accepted to be the keynote speaker. Five core equity leaders will provide a short status of their areas technology. A capstone panel will summarize the event and will be moderated by RDML Charles Goddard, USN.
