Silverdale, Wash — The Sea Wolf-class attack submarine USS Jimmy Carter (SSN 23) sits moored in the Magnetic Silencing Facility at Naval Base Kitsap Bangor for her first deperming treatment in August 2006. The deperming process reduces a ship's electromagnetic signature as she travels through the water.
