The Flagship Section has built continuously upon the
success of the previous years. At ASNE
Day 2007 our section was awarded Section of the Year once again. Considering the diligence and work of the
other sections within the Society, this is an outstanding achievement. This honor is a reflection of our
membership’s notable work, commitment to the Society and Naval Engineering,
and dedication to serving the greater community. The Flagship Awards Committee, chaired by Mike Harrington,
is always collecting information on the activities of the Section (including
the Chapters) and our membership.
These activities are awarded points by the Society and are used to
determine the Section of the Year. Our
ability to account for our members’ activities has been critical in our
pursuit of the Section of the Year Award. You can help the Awards Committee through your support of
the Section, and by sending information on your professional activities (click here to send an email to Mike). Below is a list of activities, which could
help the Flagship Section in the point tally. - Spoke at a non-ASNE function. - Performed a unique project in an ASNE discipline to
solve a military, government or industrial problem. - Attained registration as a Professional Engineer. - Submitted and or published articles in the “Naval
Engineers Journal” or other national journal/magazine. - Presented technical papers at ASNE Day or other
symposium. - Conducted or participated in a science fair/student
competition/student project. - Were nominated for an award or won an award. - Taught or arranged professional or technical courses in
ASNE disciplines. - Mentored or tutored students. |
