Course Description:
The purpose of the presentation is to provide a roadmap for the transition new products to the fleet. The roadmap will include all the steps to complete implementation of industry-proven off-the-shelf products. The presentation will also include all the technical documentation required for general implementation and the logistics components required for successful fleet procurements. Finally, roadmaps for both government agencies and product manufacturers will be presented.
Instructor Biography:
Ms. Allyson Jones is an In-Service Engineering Agent at Naval Surface Warfare Center – Philadelphia Division in the Corrosion and Coatings Engineering Branch. As a materials chemist with a B.S. in chemistry from James Madison University, Ms. Jones began her career in the laboratory evaluating submarine coatings. For the past six years Ms. Jones has been leading the NSWCPD Corrosion Assessment Program with the purpose of extending ship service-life and reducing maintenance costs by providing ship maintenance teams with valuable ship-specific corrosion and coatings repair recommendations. Ms. Jones is also the engineering manager for deck covering materials under the NAVSEA technical authority and has been working to overhaul all deck covering documentation including the NAVSEA Standard Item 009-26, deck covering PMS and the deck covering specifications. In addition to these responsibilities, Ms. Jones has become the coating logistics subject matter expert to support coating technology implementation through the active management and creation of supporting logistics products, material specifications and requirements documentation.
