Standing Committees

In accordance with Article XI of the ASNE Bylaws, the Audit Committee is a Standing Committee of the Society that is given responsibility to “…advise the Council on the accuracy of annual financial statements submitted by the Treasurer (Executive Director) and critically review the financial operations and procedures of the Society.”

In accordance with Article XI of the ASNE Bylaws, the Membership Committee is a Standing Committee of the Society that is “…responsible for establishing and executing programs to attract new members, overseeing the review of membership applications, promoting the interests of the Society's members, and advising the Council on matters pertaining to membership.”

In accordance with Article XI of the ASNE Bylaws, the Membership Committee is a Standing Committee of the Society that is "...to present to the Council for its consideration, at a date designated by Council, at least two nominations, to the extent feasible and practical, for each office to be filled."
In accordance with Article XI of the ASNE Bylaws, the Sections Committee is a Standing Committee of the Society that is assigned responsibility for “…developing and maintaining communication between the Council and the Sections, and assisting in establishment and guidance of Sections, and chapters within them as described in Article XIII (of the Bylaws).”

In accordance with Article XI of the ASNE Bylaws, the Ways & Means Committee is a Standing Committee of the Society that is “…responsible for recommending programs to maintain and improve the general financial well-being of the Society, including increasing revenues, effectively utilizing Society's funds, and reviewing the Society's investment program.”

Continuing Committees

The Awards Committee is a Continuing Committee of the Society as defined in Article XI of the ASNE Bylaws. The committee is chartered by the ASNE Council in accordance with the Council Policy on ASNE National Committees. The Awards Committee is responsible for establishing and maintaining the policy of the Society with regard to recognition of outstanding professional achievement in naval engineering.

The Combat Systems Committee is a Continuing Committee of the Society as defined in Article XI of the ASNE Bylaws. The committee is chartered by the ASNE Council in accordance with the Council Policy on ASNE National Committees. The Combat Systems Committee is responsible for fostering and promoting the interest and activities of the Society in naval combat systems for both tactical and strategic applications.

The Long-Range Planning and Programs Committee is a Continuing Committee of the Society as defined in Article XI of the ASNE Bylaws. The committee is chartered by the ASNE Council in accordance with the Council Policy on ASNE National Committees. The purpose of the Long-Range Planning and Programs Committee is to be both the “think tank” and “action group” for the Council in order to ensure that ASNE sets appropriate and challenging long range goals and meaningful metrics of success and then formulates and implements effective strategies to achieve those goals. This includes establishing and executing a national strategy and scheduling symposia, workshops and other events so as to promote the professional development of ASNE’s members, foster increased communications of ideas and technological developments in engineering, and advance the financial viability of ASNE.
The Journal Editorial Board is a continuing function of the Society as defined in Article XI of the ASNE Bylaws. The Editorial Board is chartered by the ASNE Council in accordance with the Council Policy on ASNE National Committees.

The Professional Development Committee is a Continuing Committee of the Society as defined in Article XI of the ASNE Bylaws. The committee is chartered by the ASNE Council in accordance with the Council Policy on ASNE National Committees. The Professional Development Committee is responsible for establishing and executing a national strategy for professional development so as to be the preferred provider of programs for education, training, credentialing, experience, and mentoring in the naval engineering community.

The Scholarship Committee is a Continuing Committee of the Society as defined in Article XI of the ASNE Bylaws. The committee is chartered by the ASNE Council in accordance with the Council Policy on ASNE National Committees. The Scholarship Committee is responsible for administering the Society's Scholarship Program and recommending to the Council candidates for award of Society Scholarships.
