The ASNE Sustaining Member program was created to recognize members for their generous contributions to the Society. Contributions from members help ASNE advance the profession of naval engineering and promote naval engineering as a career field.

Contributions from ASNE Sustaining Members play an important role in helping ASNE carry out programs that enhance the understanding of naval engineering and attract new members to the profession. In particular, Sustaining Member contributions help support the following ASNE programs:

• ASNE distributes free copies of the Naval Engineers Journal to every U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard ship and to engineering and acquisition oriented shore organizations.
• ASNE subsidizes membership for students in naval engineering related curricula as part of a joint program with the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers. These students become members in both societies for combined annual dues of $35. ASNE’s share falls far short of the actual cost of providing the Journal and other services to these student members.
• ASNE provides free introductory membership to new, entry-level members of the profession in order to help them gain a successful start to their career and acquaint them with the broad range of exciting opportunities in naval engineering.
• ASNE supports student design competitions, student paper competitions, science fairs and mentoring and tutoring programs to help students gain interest and skills related to naval engineering.
• ASNE provides free symposia admittance to all student members including admittance to ASNE Day.
• ASNE recently completed digitization of the entire Naval Engineers Journal library and continues work on symposia proceedings and other media.

The Society has recently introduced a new Sustaining Member Program that recognizes the generosity of members.  Following is a description of the contribution and recognition levels:

BRONZE:  $100-249

GOLD:  $500- 999 OR $400 PER YEAR PLEDGE FOR 4 YEARS

PLATINUM:  $1,000 PLUS OR $750 PER YEAR PLEDGE FOR 4 YEARS
