<p>We are pleased to announce our upcoming 14 SEPTEMBER 2023 ASNE SNAME CGCS NEW ORLEANS DINNER MEETING featuring guest speaker CAPTAIN BRIAN CONNON (USN Ret) – VP Ocean Mapping at Saildrone Inc.</p>
<p><span style="background:white"><b>Saildrone </b>is the world leader in providing ocean data solutions with uncrewed surface vehicles, offering unrivaled payload, range, and reliability. Saildrone vehicles have sailed almost 1,000,000 nautical miles and spent almost 25,000 days at sea collecting data that provides unprecedented intelligence for climate, mapping, and maritime security applications.</span></p>
<p><span style="background:white"><b>Captain Brian Connon (USN Ret)</b> will focus his talk on the unique design of Saildrone vehicle’s long endurance, low carbon uncrewed surface vehicles primarily propelled by the wind and powered by solar energy. Saildrone has three classes of vehicles and conducts missions across three business verticals: Ocean Data, Ocean Data and Maritime Domain Awareness. Saildrone also employs a unique business model: Mission as a Service. This allows for continual innovation and less risk to clients.</span></p>
<p><span style="background:white"><b><u>Captain Brian Connon </u></b>,US Navy (Ret) is Vice President, Ocean Mapping at Saildrone, Inc and President (elect) of The Hydrographic Society of America. A certified hydrographer, he holds a BS in Geography from the University of South Carolina, an MS in Oceanography and Meteorology from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA, and an MS in Hydrography from the University of Southern Mississippi. He is a Chartered Marine Scientist (Hydrography) and Fellow of the Institute for Marine Engineering, Science and Technology. Brian Served for over 28 years as an oceanographer and hydrographer in the US Navy and is passionate about mapping, exploring, and protecting our oceans.</span></p>
