ASNE welcomes participants from this exciting new event to ASNE Day 2010.

The shipbuilding industry is facing new challenges.  In an era of constrained resources, the industry is faced with the need to contain costs while still meeting the demands of private sector business and the military.   To help address these challenges, ASNE is pleased to announce the convening of the first Global Shipbuilding Executive Summit, to be held in conjunction with ASNE Day 2010.  This invitation-only event will bring together the leaders in shipbuilding design and production for a unique opportunity to share ideas and perspectives on moving the industry forward.

The Global Shipbuilding Executive Summit, sponsored by Siemens PLM Software, will focus on several key issues facing businesses across the industry.  Participants will address how to impact total ownership cost during ship design and construction and they will discuss ways of reducing costs of design and development, with a special focus on controlling the cost associated with the first ships of a new type or class.  The event will also include round table discussions on issues such as innovation and transformation as a means of assuring the long-term success of the shipbuilding industry.

The Global Shipbuilding Executive Summit represents a unique opportunity to bring together the leading minds in the industry to share experiences and develop concrete plans to move forward.
