Technology, Systems, and Ships & Combat Systems Symposium (TSSCSS) 2025

November 17–20, 2025

Van Metre Hall, George Mason University, Arlington, VA

The American Society of Naval Engineers (ASNE) is proud to host the Technology, Systems, and Ships Symposium (TSS) and Combat Systems Symposium (CSS) on November 17–20, 2025 at George Mason University’s Van Metre Hall in Arlington, VA.

Technology, Systems, and Ships (TSS)

November 17–18, 2025
“Forged to Fight: Past, Present and Future”

This symposium provides a forum for exploring the full lifecycle of naval platforms—from design and construction, to sustainment and modernization, to workforce development for the future. Keynotes, panels, and technical papers will highlight current Fleet priorities, lessons learned, and innovative approaches from across government, industry, and academia. Special features include a “Best of Papers” showcase, a Young Professionals program, and historical perspectives on how past experience shapes future capability.

Combat Systems Symposium (CSS)

November 19–20, 2025
“Achieving the Lethal Battle Force for Today and Tomorrow”

Anchored in the CNO’s Navy Campaign (CNO34), CSS will focus on the engineering, integration, and sustainment needed to deliver maximum lethality, adaptability, and survivability in contested environments. Topics include artificial intelligence, robotics and autonomous systems, resilient command-and-control, hypersonic weapons, quantum-enabled sensing, and advanced manufacturing—as well as the process and sustainment challenges of moving these technologies to the Fleet at speed.

Together, TSSCSS 2025 creates a unique, concentrated venue for government, Navy leadership, industry, shipyards, and academia to exchange ideas, strengthen collaboration, and accelerate solutions that advance Fleet readiness and warfighting advantage. Attendees will have opportunities to network with decision makers, contribute to technical discussions, and engage with the professionals shaping the Navy’s platforms and systems for today, tomorrow, and the future fight.

Exhibits & Sponsorships

Showcase your leadership at TSSCSS 2025! Sponsorship puts your brand in front of the Navy, government, and industry professionals driving the future of ships and combat systems—where priorities, programs, and technology come together.

Interested in exhibiting? Put your solutions at the heart of the discussion. Exhibits are positioned alongside symposium activities in the multipurpose space and surrounding areas, giving your team consistent visibility with attendees between sessions and throughout the day.

Connect with us today at Exhibits@NavalEngineers.org or call (703) 836-6727 to secure your sponsorship or exhibit space. TSSCSS is where engineers, program teams, and decision-makers look for capabilities they can deploy now and next—don’t miss out!

Call for Papers

Abstract submissions are opening soon!

ASNE is seeking papers for inclusion in the technical program of the 2025 Technology, Systems, and Ships (TSS) conference this November. Authors will have the opportunity to then present their papers at the conference. Technical papers for TSS are solicited across the broad range of technical challenges and opportunities applicable to technology, systems, and ships. With a focus on current and emerging trends, particular emphasis is placed on content surrounding digital transformation for the U.S. Navy that facilitates more players on the field of ship design and technology integration.

The following topics are particularly encouraged:

  • Technology integration
  • Systems engineering
  • Modern warship design and shipbuilding
  • Digital transformation to facilitate “more players on the field”
  • Advances in electric and hybrid ship technology
  • Unmanned ship technology

Abstract Submission Details

Abstract submissions should include the following:

  • Proposed Title
  • Author(s)’ name(s) and organization(s)/affiliation(s)
  • Primary Point of Contact, mailing address, phone number, and e-mail address
  • One page, 300 word maximum written description in sufficient detail to permit evaluation. 1-2 key figures are recommended to be included as part of the abstract.
  • Abstracts should be submitted in MS Word or Adobe Acrobat format.
  • All papers must be cleared for public release, may not be of a marketing nature, and must not contain any classified or otherwise controlled information.
