Dr. Leigh McCue entered the association management world from academia, where she was an Associate Professor in Virginia Tech’s Department of Aerospace and Ocean Engineering. Dr. McCue received her BSE degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering in 2000 from Princeton University. She earned her graduate degrees from the University of Michigan in Aerospace Engineering (MSE 2001) and Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering (MSE 2002, PhD 2004).
As an academic she received numerous, prestigious young faculty awards including an NSF Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) grant, an ONR Young Investigator Program (YIP) grant, and a Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE). After years as a dedicated ASNE volunteer, Leigh is eager to bring her passions for education and outreach to ASNE as we expand our continuing education programs while continuing to offer state of the art symposia and technical publications.
