Environmental Monitoring Technologies for Responsible Marine Energy Development

Overview:

The webinar will provide an introduction to the U.S. Department of Energy’s Water Power Technologies Office (WPTO), as well as an overview of the various types of Marine Energy Converters under development, common environmental issues faced by the marine energy industry, and the technology solutions WPTO is funding to proactively address these environmental concerns.

Presenter's Biography

Samantha Eaves, Ph.D.

Dr. Eaves received her M.S. and Ph.D. in Marine Science from the College of William and Mary, Virginia Institute of Marine Science. She joined the Water Power Technologies Office in 2014 and currently serves as a Technology Manager, leading the Marine Energy environmental and regulatory portfolios. In addition, she leads the work WPTO funds through the four National Marine Energy Centers.
