We are pleased to invite you to join us aboard the historic USS Midway Museum for our Annual 2026 Maritime Day Celebration, taking place on Friday, May 15, 2026.
This signature event brings together San Diego’s working waterfront—industry leaders, community partners, and supporters—for an afternoon of connection, recognition, and celebration of our hardworking maritime community.
One of the most meaningful aspects of this event is the presentation of our 2026 scholarships, which support students entering the maritime and skilled trades industries. These scholarships represent a direct investment in the future of our workforce and reflect the pride and commitment of our maritime community.
This year’s celebration is especially significant as we also recognize a major national milestone: America’s 250th anniversary. Maritime has played a foundational role in our nation’s history, and this event provides an opportunity to honor that legacy while continuing to move the industry forward.
We are also honored to welcome two highly respected leaders from the U.S. Navy and maritime community:
- Jim Bedinger, a retired Naval Flight Officer, former POW, and Past President of the Propeller Club, who brings a powerful story of service, resilience, and leadership.
- Dave Kurtz, a retired Naval Flight Officer and former Captain of the USS Nimitz, who offers a commanding perspective shaped by decades of experience at the highest levels of naval operations.
Set against the iconic backdrop of the USS Midway, this luncheon offers a unique opportunity to engage with colleagues and partners across the maritime sector while celebrating the strength, resilience, and legacy of our industry.
