Abstract:
At the last MegaRust, a suggestion was made at the corrosion panel discussion that a presentation of the advances that ONR, NSWC and industry partners have made towards fielding new coatings and tools, and developing new techniques should be given at the next meeting.
The Navy has made some remarkable strides in efforts to prevent and mitigate the effects of metal corrosion in recent years. While continuing to find more cost and manpower effective tools and techniques to improve corrosion abatement efforts Navy wide, it is useful to highlight just how much has been accomplished in recent years. An awareness of the new tools and techniques can help enlighten the community to new cost and time saving products and stimulate future advances.
