Title: Maritime Cyber Security: Risks and Strategies

Abstract:

Maritime transportation security has been important for hundreds of years. Today, the maritime sector cannot survive without information technologies. The dependence on cyber infrastructure introduced many opportunities and innovative systems along with threats. In this study, we aim to draw a picture of the current state of cyber security in maritime domain from a risk assessment perspective to inform about the cyber security risks and vulnerabilities. Strategic and organizational level examination of cyber security in the maritime domain is the scope of this study. To identify the vulnerabilities and risks current literature was reviewed to extract the information. A survey is developed based on the literature and conducted to identify risks, vulnerabilities, threats and countermeasures. Findings from the survey will be discussed.
