Mrs. Robin White, Director for Surface Ship Design and Systems Engineering, Naval Sea Systems Command, will be moderating a panel on ""Design Challenges" with the following potential areas of focus:

  • Requirements stability and the influence of CONOPs on design
  • Acquisition strategy and design process relationship, propagation of risk through design & construction
  • Best design processes for enabling good ideas in production efficiency, technology, affordability
  • Family of ships - designing across programs for commonality, flexibility, networks
  • Ship Systems Perspective - Integration, testing, tools
  • Building ship specs to incorporate lessons learned and innovative technologies
Mrs. White will also be receiving the American Society of Naval Engineers' Harold E. Saunders award for lifetime achievement during Technology, Systems and Ships!
