ASNE Pokémon Contest
Caught the Pokémon Go craze? Share with us on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram your best nautical Pokémon picture. The Pokémon Masters at ASNE HQ will randomly select one Pokémon image poster to receive one free event registration good for any ASNE event in 2016, such as the Fleet Maintenance and Modernization Symposium! Use hastag #pokeasne. And if you're in the neighborhood, swing by ASNE HQ; there's a Poké Stop right at our front door!
ASNE Night at the Nationals
Pokémon not your thing? That's ok! Those of us in the DC metro area are gathering together to watch the Nationals take on the Braves for ASNE Night. Game time is 7:05PM Eastern on August 12, 2016. This is the second year of this family-friendly social. Tickets are only $19, and $5 of every ticket goes to support ASNE programs such as scholarships, symposia, courses, and student activities. Click here to purchase your ticket.
And if you love baseball and love ASNE, but cannot make that game, you can still see the Nationals while supporting ASNE for most games this season. Go to http://nationals.com/vip, select a game, then use code ASNE.
Student Spotlight
Speaking of student programs, the graduation award photos continue to roll in. The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy sent us this shot of John Tuttle presenting the ASNE award, given annually to the graduating Engineer or Dual License Midshipman who exhibits the potential of a superior engineer, to Midshipman Joshua Levitas. Congratulations Joshua! Learn more about our student awards program here.
